The Dehesas

The dehesas of Calzadilla, 'El Rebollar' and 'La Zarzuela', form part of the most characteristic and valuable landscape of the local natural environment. The dehesa is a traditional Mediterranean ecosystem comprising vast expanses of holm oaks and cork oaks, combined with pastures and various ponds or small lakes, historically dedicated to extensive livestock farming, mainly of cattle and goats.

For centuries, it has been an important resource thanks to its suitability for livestock farming, agriculture and forestry, and today it is also a significant tourist attraction due to its scenic and environmental value.

Its paths and trails are ideal for activities such as walking, birdwatching and cycling.
